In keeping with our promise to all donors, Tzu Chi follows a strict policy at our Tijuana medical clinics, evaluating all of our service recipients on the basis of need and serving only those with nowhere else to turn for treatment.
We prioritize the most vulnerable demographics, such as persons with disability who rarely receive dental services and children or parents without health insurance.
Some of our patients have never visited a dentist, optometrist, or medical doctor before in their lives.
Our medical partners in the private and public sectors work with us to deliver a range of professional medical care unreachable in the communities served by our campus. Tzu Chi Tijuana's medical partners include Tzu Chi Taiwan Hospitals, General Hospital of Tijuana, Florence Hospital, Luz Foundation and local Salud agencies.
Operating 5 days a week, Tzu Chi's dental clinic has helped numerous adults and children return to work or school after debilitating oral pain. Volunteer endodontists address oral health complications.
Some community members receive their very first pair of eyeglasses from Tzu Chi. Our volunteer ophthalmologists identify diabetes patients with vision health complications and refer them to local vision centers.
We thank our public and private sector partners for supporting complex medical charity cases. We connect people in need with those passionate about giving for the benefit of both parties.
